Soul Food Women's Retreat
July 9-16, 2020
Leyden, Massachusetts

join us for this creative celebration of freedom and authenticity!

spirit fireOur summer Soul Food retreat is blooming in New England for 2020! This year, we're heading to Spirit Fire Retreat Center on the eastern edge of The Berkshires in northern Massachusetts for a beautiful week of women's empowerment, celebration, laughter, community, creativity, and openhearted authenticity.

Relax back into your center point, drop anchor in your deepest truth, and let your natural joy and childlike wonder come back to the surface. Give yourself permission to play, let go of rules and "should"s, lighten up, and rediscover and celebrate who you really are. Come alive and feed your soul with the deeply healing, profound freedom of being you, fully, and bravely shining that out into the world!

Join an amazing circle of women for this soulful and empowering week of rediscovering and expressing your true essence. Carie and CarolineRenew your spirit with Freedom Yoga, meditation, dancing, singing, storytelling, art, laughter, silence, great food, beautiful green forests, and more. Together, we will trust our inner guidance and follow our passion into what makes us come alive.

The focus of our group practice sessions will be Freedom Yoga, the art of living a guided-from-within life, built on the foundation of inner listening, courage, and self-trust. It is a creative practice that involves following the feeling of rightness wherever it leads, daring to do as each of us is guided to do, both on the mat, and, most importantly, in our lives. We will explore and experience this through an eclectic blend of elements: lively group discussions, meditation, creative asana (guided and also freeform), journaling, storytelling, art, mantra and chanting, deep relaxation, plus a soul-freeing dance-fusion practice I created called Bhakti Moves. The asana (yoga poses) will be easy and accessible for everyone.

Come with us! Dare to color outside the lines, release comparison, immerse yourself in the feeling of rightness, and bravely follow it wherever it leads. There is nothing more freeing. It's going to be such an awesome week of self-discovery, celebration, and soul-renewal.

Those of us who want to share rides and cost will coordinate with each other as we get closer to July. I'm interested in doing a couple of outings - one to the little town of Shelburne Falls, where they have a famous bridge of flowers and lots of art and shops, and one to some "swimming/watering holes" on the Green River.

from past past retreat participants

" Carie has a gift in her ability to curate a yoga inspired program that encourages people to look deeper. I signed up for her 2019 retreat in Montana not expecting anything but a relaxing time in the mountains, practicing yoga. spirit fireWhat I left with was a deeper understanding of who I am, what truly makes me feel fulfilled and connected, new tools to help me tune into myself and others, and many soul sisters who I had not known before. I now plan to follow Carie every summer to experience her gifts, take a step back to reflect on what is true, and to connect to what is bigger than just me."
      J. S., Georgia

"Carie has a unique, powerful, and deeply transformative practice. She shares her vulnerability and in return fosters courage among the group to be vulnerable. During the retreat we laughed, cried, sang, danced, chanted, loved, shared stories, supported others, developed camaraderie, enjoyed great food, healed, became stronger, slowed down, and connected with the Infinite. Carie teaches that yoga is more than the asana practice on the mat. Yoga is a way of life. I am grateful to Carie for sharing her practice with all of us. The week was nothing short of magical, and I left feeling changed, whole, connected, brave, and loved."
      C. Z., California

"Carie's retreat was more than I expected. It was not about asana, not about doing a pose "the right way," not about appearance. It was about practicing pausing, breathing, and listening to my inner self. Carie wove together movement, song, silence, and story for a week long adventure in self-discovery. Along the way I found a circle of sisters of my heart. I will be forever grateful to Carie for the learning and the circle."
